The Stables of Como, South Yarra

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
·         French Toast - served with almond butter, fresh banana, coconut shavings, honey and cinnamon ($15.00)
·         Southern Hash - potato hash served with southern BBQ black eyed beans and cotechino pork sausage ($17.00)
·         Chargrilled Zucchini - thinly sliced chargrilled zucchini with garlic, lemon, parsley and chilli flakes served with toasted ciabatta ($16.00)
·         Happy Chook Waldorf Salad - brioche roll with romaine lettuce ($15.00)

WHAT WE ATE...
I decided to have the ‘South Reuben – pastrami, gruyere, beetroot sauerkraut, and hot mustard mayo on rye ($15.00)’. The pastrami was delicate and not too thick. The beetroot sauerkraut was a welcome addition with its tanginess mingling with the heavenly gruyere. A delightful Rueben sandwich.

My dining companion opted for the ‘Como Steak Sambo – beef, grilled portabello mushroom, our heirloom beets, Persian feta, rocket ($20.00)’. The very tender steak worked perfectly with the mushroom and creamy feta. Also, a wonderful sandwich…

WHAT WE DRANK...
We both ordered lattes ($3.90) made with Allpress Coffee…
