Chapter Three, Canterbury

·         Waffles – house made with salted caramel, fresh figs, vanilla ice-cream, and crushed honeycomb ($18.50)
·         Bake Eggs Shakshuka Style – meatballs baked in spicy tomato and capsicum sauce, two eggs and a side of toast ($20.00)
·         Chicken, Corn and Haloumi Fritters – golden, shallow-fried fritters, served with chipotle mayonnaise, prosciutto and crispy slaw ($22.50)
·         Spanakopita served with garden salad ($12.50)

Chapter Three is open during the day for meals and coffee but has recently started offering dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We were there at lunchtime so I picked the ‘Olive, feta, sundried tomato and spinach quiche ($10.00)’. This was accompanied by a garden salad with a lovely dressing. The quiche was quite good but needed a bit of seasoning.

My dining companion chose the ‘Chapter Three Burger – chicken thigh fillet marinated in Chapter Three spices and buttermilk, served with house made slaw in a brioche bun, with a side of chips ($19.50)’. This burger also would have benefited from some seasoning but the chips were fantastic.

We both ordered lattes ($3.80)…
