WHAT WE ATE...
We ordered a
few dishes to share. The ‘Pad Thai Noodles with Prawns – stir-fried rice
noodles with egg, bean curd and ground roasted cashew nuts with tamarind sauce,
wrapped in an egg net ($20.00)’. The dish was beautifully presented with the
egg net crowning the noodles. The option to make it spicier with a side of
dried chilli was a pleasant surprise.
The ‘Kow Pad
Gang Keaw with Prawns – spicy stir-fried rice with green curry paste ($20.00)’
had a gorgeous perfume from the green curry paste. Delicious and hot!
The ‘Pad Kee
Mao – stir-fried mixed seafood with krachai, lime leaf, peppercorn and fresh chilli
with green curry sauce ($25.00)’ was perfect for those who love some heat.
Another wonderful dish for the night…
For dessert,
we shared the ‘Kluay Tod – banana in coconut batter, served with vanilla
ice-cream ($13.00)’. This dessert was a stunning work of art with sculpted
fruit to go with the scrumptious, crunchy banana spheres. I love a banana
fritter but Ped’s Thai take it to a whole new level.
OVERALL…
Sometimes
Thai restaurants can seem pretty generic… you know what you are going to get.
Ped’s Thai was a revelation with creative cooking and wonderful service.
Customers are obviously frequent patrons of the restaurant with the owner welcoming
and enchanting new and past guests. Also, if you park around the back, there is
a secret rear entrance to get to the restaurant with ease…
