We both ordered some gorgeous cakes. I chose the ‘Charlotte Aux Fraises - vanilla sponge with strawberry mousse, rhubarb compote, and strawberry jelly ($8.65)’. Hidden inside this beautiful cake was a scrumptious centre of rosy mousse and rhubarb. I absolutely adored this creation…

My dining companion opted for the ‘Rubis – white chocolate mousse, raspberry crémeux, lime, and almond flourless sponge ($8.65)’. This was also magnificent!

Laurent Boulangerie Patisseries are now a common feature of the eastern suburbs culinary scene, with the original store opening in 1993 in South Yarra. I often enjoy a Croque Monsieur and a pot of tea at their Eastland store but on this occasion, we stopped by the Chadstone store for some afternoon tea. This place is always very busy but we managed to secure a vacant table out the front. A wonderful place to relax and refuel whilst shopping at Chadstone…
