What's On in Boroondara...

As a Boroondara resident, I love to partake in the fabulous local events that are on offer. We Melburnians are so lucky that we don't have to travel far to find amazing art, culture and delicious food. 

Here's what is on over the next few weeks...

Kew Night Market
Local artisans and sellers will be showcasing their wares on Friday 29th July including jewellery and art. Also, the first 50 adults through the door will receive a free goodies bag! Find out more info here...




Dine In Dine Out
This is an all-day fiesta on Saturday 6th August in Camberwell which will be packed with plenty of activities including laneway pop-up parks, street food tastings, in-store promotions, a market family day, roving entertainment and fun for the children. I can't wait to see jazz band, Dr Jazz & The Gangsters Palace, at the After Dark Jazz Park at Evans Place. There will also be food and wine tastings at the After Dark Jazz Park from 6pm until 10pm. 



HOUSE PARTY 2 - Papa Chango
At the Kew Court House, the House Party 2 featuring Papa Chango will be on Friday 29th JulyThis Melbourne based 8-piece band brings audiences to a frenzy on packed dance floors. Tickets are $25 and starts at 8pm...



'Imagined Worlds' Exhibition
Over at the Town Hall Gallery, the current exhibition is 'Imagined Worlds'. Blurring the boundary between real and imagined, these artworks challenge traditional representations of landscape and allow the viewer to imagine life in a new world. This exhibition is on now until Sunday 21st August...

No Lights No Lycra in Boroondara (NLNLiB)
Every Thursday night at the Hawthorn Arts Centre is 'No Lights No Lycra' which is a dance project that allows you to explore your senses – feel, smell and hear what all the commotion has been about. Cost is $7 at the door and starts at 6pm... 




Boroondara Farmer's Market
Want to stock up on fresh produce so that you can create a gastronomic feast? The next farmer's market is on Saturday 30th July, 8am - 1pm, at Patterson Reserve in Auburn Road, Hawthorn East. However, due to surface upgrading at Patterson Reserve, the market is temporarily relocating to the adjacent southern car park. Entry is $2. 



Hawthorn Craft Market
Need a dog coat to keep your pooch warm this winter? Then check out the Hawthorn Craft Market on Sunday 7th August, 10am to 3pm. The market is held in the Parkview Room, 340 Camberwell Road, Camberwell... 



Book Event: William Finnegan 
At Readings in Hawthorn, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer William Finnegan will be discussing his book, Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life on Sunday 31st July at 4pm. Finnegan’s book is an old-school adventure story, a social history, an extraordinary exploration of one man’s gradual mastering of an exacting and little-understood art. This event is free but booking is required... 


Book Event: MaryAnne Bennie
If you need to get organised, author MaryAnne Bennie will be speaking about reducing clutter, rethinking your needs and reorganising your home, office and life. This event is on at the Kew Library on Tuesday 16th August at 7.00pm. Her book will also be available to purchase on the night...
