Last week, I
was invited to a
Zomato Meetup with fellow bloggers and foodies to sample what
Vivace in Brighton has to offer. We were treated to a delightful Winter Italian
banquet by a cosy open fireplace with matching wines. Owner Chris Favaloro and
co-host Andrew Zoli ensured we had a wonderful night whilst Andrew from
Robert Oatley Wines and Executive Chef, Davide Ferraro informed us about the enchanting food
and wine we were sampling.
On arrival,
we sampled some prosciutto, arancini, olives, bread and oysters.

I chose the ‘Caramelised scallops, cauliflower, chorizo, shallots, fennel &
coriander’…
There was
also the ‘Pumpkin, goat’s cheese & potato croquettes, crushed amaretti,
beetroot, caper & raisin’…

course was pasta. The ‘Cappellacci
di oorri e patete, con fonduta di gorgonzola e tartufo - pasta parcels filled
with potato & leek, truffle, blue cheese sauce’...

For mains we
had a choice of three dishes. I opted for the ‘Porcini & wild mushroom risotto, leeks, spinach & Grana Padano’...
My dining companion picked the ‘Murray
Valley 12 hour slow cooked, crisp pork belly, rhubarb, apple, onion &
ginger relish, thyme roasted squash, white balsamic sauce’...
There was also the ‘Roast lamb
loin, pistachio brioche crust, smoked eggplant, asparagus, sweet bread’.

We finished
our amazing Italian dinner with dessert. I was tempted by the ‘Panna

Belgian chocolate fondant, fig, mascarpone & honey gelato, citrus’...
