WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

·        Three stack buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries, cinnamon, vanilla mascarpone and crushed pistachio nuts and almond flakes ($17.90)

·        Slow cooked beans in a rich tomato sauce with poached egg, crumbled feta and rocket served with crunchy Turkish bread ($17.50)

·        Fennel seed crusted lamb back strap with crispy potato cake, roasted thyme mushrooms, roast beetroot in a reduced lamb jus ($19.90)

·        Roast pumpkin risotto with oyster mushrooms and baby spinach ($15.50)

WHAT WE ATE...

I chose the ‘Crispy Skin Salmon on a compote of potato and caramelised onions in balsamic vinegar, served with roast capsicum sauce, crunchy cucumber and pine nuts ($18.50)’. I absolutely adored this! The salmon fillet was cooked perfectly and the capsicum sauce offset the richness of the fish. The compote of potato and caramelised onions in balsamic vinegar tasted amazing!

My dining companion opted for the ‘Wagyu burger with rainbow slaw, slices of tomato, caramelised onions, melted tasty cheese, crispy bacon and tomato relish served with a basket of chips ($19.50)’. This was a fantastic burger that contained a flavoursome patty and super crispy bacon. The chips were also great and the lovely waitress brought over some sauces to dip them in.

WHAT WE DRANK…

My latte ($3.50) made with Atomica Coffee had a wonderful flavour.

OVERALL…

The Brunswick Flour Mill is located in a gorgeous old building along Sydney Road. They offer an all-day breakfast menu as well as an enticing lunch menu. The interior is decorated with flour paraphernalia and is somewhere that you would feel comfortable taking your friends, your parents, or even your grandparents... The service at the Brunswick Flour Mill was brilliant and very friendly.
