WHAT WE ATE...
My dining
companion and I chose a special: the Egg and Bacon Sandwich with coffee for
$8.00. It was a yummy sandwich and the egg was cooked perfectly.
My other
dining companion opted for a couple of ‘Chicken and avocado finger sandwiches’.
The filling was scrumptious and the good thing is that you can order as many
‘fingers’ as you like! Not sure how much they are though.
WHAT WE DRANK...
I ordered a
pot of tea ($4.50). The ‘Funky Chai’ tea from the Yarra Valley Tea Company was
delightful and was accompanied by some honey.
My dining
companions ordered cappuccinos ($4.00) made with Cortado Coffee which had a
robust flavour.
OVERALL…
I used to
enjoy having tea and cake at the Orient Expresso Café in Hamilton Street but unfortunately
that has closed down. Thankfully, Mason Lane Café opened a few months ago up
the road. I have previously tried the 'Lemon Meringue Cheesecake ($6.00)' which
was delicious! The service is very friendly and the café has a welcoming
atmosphere.
