·         Vanilla and Lemon Panna Cotta, sparkling rose jelly, strawberry pearls, grapefruit, orange and freeze dried berries ($14.00)

WHAT WE ATE...
I chose a vegetarian option: the ‘Cauliflower and Asparagus Gnocchi – pan-fried gnocchi, cauliflower puree, grilled asparagus, watercress and baby red radish ($28.00)’. This dish was lovely with the creamy cauliflower sauce and the crunch from the asparagus. My only issue was that the plate needed to be heated in order to keep the food warm.

My dining companion opted for a carnivorous dish from the specials: the ‘300g Wagyu Rump – 300 day grain fed, served with a choice of two sides ($32.00)’. He selected the beer battered chips and broccolini to go with the steak. The steak was tender and the creamy mushroom sauce enhanced the beef. The accompanying sides were also excellent.

For dessert, we shared the ‘Lemon and gin tart, marshmallow, raspberry powder, yoghurt sorbet ($14.00)’. This was a visually delightful dessert! The tart provided a zingy kick whilst the yoghurt sorbet mellowed this out. It was my favourite dish of the night.

WHAT WE DRANK...
I decided to have a glass of the ‘Cape Vine Premium Brut Cuvee ($7.00)’.

My dining companion went with a mocktail from the drinks list: ‘Passionate Time – passionfruit pulp and apple juice topped with ginger beer ($10.00)’.

OVERALL…
The 115 Grill & Brewhouse is located inside the Best Western Kew. Executive Chef Daniel Thomas is in charge of the kitchen which emphasises quality steaks but also leaves the vegetarians happy too. There is also an on-site microbrewery which produces a great selection of boutique beers. Normally I would have tried the beer as I adore craft beer but we were celebrating that night so I opted for some sparkling wine instead. Next time I will try a beer… The interior is elegant and the service is exceptional thus making 115 Grill & Brewhouse the perfect place to celebrate your next special occasion…
