WHAT'S ON THE MENU...

· Porcini Agnolotti – duck, spinach, ricotta with a mixed mushroom cream sauce, balsamic and honey glazed walnuts, and shaved pecorino ($27.50)
· Zucca Pizza – fior di latte, pumpkin purĂ©e, ricotta, porchetta, balsamic glaze ($23.90)
· Braised Beef Cheek – slow cooked beef cheek in red wine with sweet potato mash and parsnip crisps ($32.00)
As it was a
Tuesday night, we ordered the Pizza Night special. I chose the ‘Capricciosa –
San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, shaved leg ham, mushrooms, olives,
anchovies, roast artichoke’. The lovely waiter produced a flavoursome pizza
with a perfect base that was topped with quality ingredients.
My dining
companion opted for the ‘Pollo – San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, roast
chicken pieces, roast red capsicum, pesto’. This pizza was also a winner with
the addition of the vibrant, verdant pesto.
We both decided
to enjoy a Peroni with our pizza…
OVERALL…
You won’t grow a long nose if you tell your friends that the pizzas are amazing at Pinocchio’s in Kew. The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven using fresh, local ingredients. Gluten-free bases are also available. The story of Pinocchio is illustrated on the walls of this sleek restaurant which will enchant both children and adults alike. Tuesday night is the ideal time to visit as it is Pizza Night, where you can order any regular pizza and a glass of wine or a Peroni for $25.
