WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

· Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffles – buttermilk waffles with peanut butter cream, strawberry jelly, butterscotch and hazelnut praline ($16.00)

· Steak and Eggs – braised BBQ brisket, red cabbage sauerkraut, béarnaise, sourdough and poached eggs ($21.00)

· Fish Tacos – rockling with radish and fennel slaw, avocado mayo, tomato salsa, with mango and jalapeno dressing on blue corn tortillas ($19.00)

· Warm Salad of Dutch carrots and roast beetroot, goats cheese, barley, red sorrel, preserved lemon, walnuts and honey vinaigrette ($18.00)

WHAT WE ATE...

I was enticed by the ‘Breakfast Board – blueberry overnight oats, coconut flakes, toasted seeds and seasonal fruit with seeded toast, smashed avocado and chilli salt ($15.50)’. I adored this brunch time dish! The oats had just the right amount of sweetness and a gorgeous texture from the coconut flakes and seeds. The avocado element was also fabulous.

My dining companion chose the ‘Smashed Avocado with chilli and finger lime ricotta on seeded toast ($16.50)’. He also added bacon (+$3.00). This was another winning dish with the ricotta adding some richness and the chilli salt giving a lovely kick of heat as needed.
