WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

· Pumpkin and Potato Rosti with vodka and coriander cured salmon, mixed leaves and herb creme fraiche ($16.50)

· Tuscan Penne - tossed with a slow cooked lamb ragout, peas, baby spinach and parmesan cheese ($24.00)

· Lamb Rump - rosemary spiced lamb with potato mash, beetroot compote, rocket and feta salad and mint demi glaze ($28.00) *gluten-free

· Cambridge Burnt Cream - a traditional baked custard with a sugar glazed top and biscotti ($9.00)

WHAT WE ATE...

McCluskey's Bistro is located inside the Knox Club. If you become a full member, you will receive 5% off your meals. I opted for the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara - bacon, egg, spring onion and cracked pepper with a hint of cream, finished with parmesan cheese ($21.00)’. The pasta sauce was just like homemade with an abundance of sliced bacon.

My dining companion decided to have a steak. He went with the ‘250g Prime Rump ($25.00)’ with pepper sauce and chips and vegetables. This dish is for those who want a hearty meal. The steak was tender and the vegetables were well cooked. Both dishes were better quality than your average pub meal.
