Chimes, Balwyn

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
·         Gobi Manchuri – cauliflower marinated and fried ($9.00)
·         Chilli Paneer ($15.00)
·         Goan Fish Curry ($18.90)
·         Butter Chicken ($16.90)

WHAT WE ATE...
We decided to order three curries to share between the three of us. I chose a vegetarian curry, the ‘Malai Kofta – cottage cheese and potato dumplings in a subtle gourmet sauce ($13.90)’. The other two curries were the ‘Beef Bhuna – cubes of beef flavoured with ground spices and cooked with onion and capsicum ($15.90)’ and the ‘Chicken Korma – pieces of chicken combined in a sauce made from nuts and fresh cream ($15.90)’. We found all the curries to be very enjoyable but I particularly liked the Malai Kofta. However, I am a sucker for vegetarian curries… We also opted for some Garlic Naan ($4.00) and Coconut Rice ($6.00) to mop up our curries.

WHAT WE DRANK...
I chose a glass of Bushranger Bay Chardonnay ($6.50) from the wine list. I received a VERY generous serve.

OVERALL…
We thought we would try the local Indian restaurant and see what it was like. Tables are adorned with black tablecloths and the restaurant had a warm atmosphere. The menu was very reasonably priced. The service was great and we would happily return.
