India @ Q, Kew

WHAT'S ON THE MENU…
·         Kerala Fish Curry – coconut based south Indian coastal speciality ($16.50)
·         Coriander Chicken ($15.90)
·         Paneer Naan – naan stuffed with cottage cheese and coriander ($4.00)
·         Gulab Jamun – dumplings lightly fried and soaked in clove and cardamom syrup ($4.50)

WHAT WE ATE...
We shared some ‘Onion Bhaji – onion fritters made with a lentil batter ($7.00)’. Six delightful balls of spicy, battered onion arrived, which also happen to be gluten-free!

I chose the ‘Malai Kofta – cheese and potato balls prepared in creamy sauce ($12.00)’ for my main. The luxurious curry contained delicate, cheesy orbs that were absolutely divine.

My dining companion went with the ‘Beef Korma – mildly spiced beef pieces in a cashew nut and yoghurt sauce ($14.50)’. The beef was tender and the curry was very comforting on a cold night.

To go with our yummy curries, we ordered some ‘Garlic Naan ($3.00)’ and a ‘Saffron Rice ($4.00)’.

OVERALL…
One of my favourite cafĂ©s in Kew is Rox CafĂ©… So, when I found out that the owner had recently opened an Indian restaurant down the road with his father, I was thrilled! The restaurant is an intimate space with an Indian theme ranging from Indian travel destination books to their favourite pastime… cricket! The fast but friendly service makes you feel at home. If you don’t feel like going out for dinner, India @ Q also does home delivery…
