WHAT WE ATE...
I chose a
dish from their specials. The ‘Thukppa – Tibetan-style noodles with chickpea,
peas, potato, tomato, curry spices ($18.50)’ was alright. The dish packed a lot
of heat but overall was fairly bland. The dish needs a little bit of reworking
with some other ingredients and spices to add some excitement.
My dining
companion ordered the ‘Bean and Kimchi – white bean, heirloom tomato, kimchi,
chorizo, poached eggs, toast ($17.00)’. The beans had a lovely flavour but the
chorizo was like leather. A knife challenge was accepted but neither
of us were able to saw through it. If they switch the chorizo, then they have a
winning dish...
WHAT WE DRANK…
My ‘Latte ($3.80)' made with Campos Coffee was very nice…
OVERALL…
I had
previously been to Fifteen Pounds for a coffee which was fabulous. We were in
the Fairfield area at lunchtime so we thought we would try out their food. We
had some misses today but I’m sure there are some gems on the rest of the menu.
There is a wonderful courtyard out the back, otherwise you can sit inside and
admire their enchanting flower arrangements.
