I was
looking for a light lunch so I picked the ‘Vegetable Pastie ($7.50)’ from the
glass display cabinet. If I was wanting something bigger, I definitely would
have ordered the Sweet Potato Burger as the one on the next table looked
fabulous! Anyway, my pastie was really delicious with excellent pastry and a
spicy, quality filling.
Our lattes ($3.80) made
with Toby’s Estate Coffee were delightful.
We had just
been to The Makers and Shakers Market at the Coburg Town Hall and were looking
for a café around Pentridge. The first café looked very busy so we kept walking
to The Boot Factory, which is part of the Pentridge Prison redevelopment. The café
is actually located in the old building where prisoners used to make footwear,
hence the name… I loved the interior with exposed brick walls and vintage
pieces which expanded on the historic theme. A great cafe to try when you are in the area!
