·         Tatsuta Tofu Tapas ($8.00)
·         Iced CafĂ© Latte with honey syrup ($4.00)

WHAT WE ATE...
I opted for the ‘Tatsuta Tofu Rice ($12.00)’. Inside the box was some fried organic tofu, fried sweet potato and eggplant, five-grain rice with homemade seaweed paste and salad. I loved this! The food at Kappaya is not only healthy but incredibly delicious. The tofu and veggies were crispy on the outside and silky on the inside and the sauce was full of umami goodness.

My dining companion chose the ‘Toriten Rice ($12.00)’ which was similar to mine except the tofu was swapped for some crispy tempura chicken. This was also an amazing dish with the addition of the crunchy, succulent chicken.

WHAT WE DRANK…
My latte ($3.50) made with organic coffee was excellent.

OVERALL…
The shade of a gorgeous peppercorn tree created a delightful sanctuary to enjoy our Japanese lunch on a hot day. Kappaya specialises in ‘Japanese soul food’ and is located in between Lentil as Anything and the Convent Bakery at the Abbotsford Convent. I normally go to The Farm CafĂ© when I am at the Abbotsford Convent, but I loved Kappaya so much that I will be spreading the love between the two eateries…
