WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

· Porridge with an apple and rhubarb compote, topped with roasted nuts, seeds and honey ($12.50)

· Zucchini and cauliflower fritters with poached eggs, heirloom tomato salsa, wild rocket and a house made tzatziki ($17.00)

· Haloumi Burger – grilled haloumi, slaw, avocado, house made aioli ($14.00)

· Slow cooked ham hock with apple cider hollandaise, poached eggs, wilted spinach, served on sourdough ($18.00)

WHAT WE ATE...

I felt like something sweet so I decided to have the ‘Buttermilk pancakes topped with vanilla mascarpone, maple syrup and seasonal fruits ($14.00)’. The combination of the syrup, vanilla mascarpone, and the ripe fruit was scrumptious! The pancakes were also fabulous and I loved how the dish had just the right amount of richness that left you wanting more.

My dining companion chose the ‘Willo Breakfast Roll – fried egg, smoked bacon, kipfler potatoes, spinach, sliced tomato and house made aioli on a toasted brioche bun ($14.00)’. This was also a fantastic dish! The inclusion of the kipfler potatoes was delightful and the aioli was delicious.

WHAT WE DRANK...

My latte ($3.80) made with Allpress Espresso coffee was excellent.

OVERALL…

When I visit Willsmere Village in Kew I usually go to Ora for lunch but I was super excited to find that an enchanting, new café had opened up around the corner. Willo Café is such a warm and cosy place to catch up for a bite to eat and a chat. The staff are very friendly and the menu has a mixture of smaller and larger options. I would recommend locals make this their café of choice for their morning coffee and perhaps a Doughboys Doughnut…
