mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, garlic and herbs with sourdough bread and chilli
oil ($14.50)

WHAT WE ATE...
I originally
ordered the soup of the day ($10.90) but I was later informed that they had run
out. They asked what I would like instead so I chose the ‘French Toast served
with mixed berry compote and maple syrup ($13.50)’. They didn’t charge me any
extra for my new meal which was really nice of them. The French Toast was very
big and had a lovely, jammy berry compote on top. It just needed a bit of cream
or mascarpone to cut back the sweetness.

My dining
companion opted for the ‘Chicken Burger with crispy chips – grilled marinated
chicken breast in citrus and herbs served with tomato, pineapple, green oak
lettuce, Spanish onion, tasty cheese on brioche bun with lime aioli sauce ($14.90)’.
This was a wonderful burger! Having grilled chicken rather than fried made it a
much lighter and healthier option. The addition of the pineapple was refreshing.

WHAT WE DRANK...
I ordered an
English Breakfast tea ($4.00) which was great.

My dining
companion ordered a ‘Large Milk Chocolate Mocha ($6.20)’ made with premium
Belgian chocolate. I had a sip and it tasted delicious.

OVERALL…
The extension
of Eastland has resulted in many new eateries. Caffe Cherry Beans is located downstairs
and offers lots of seating both inside and outside of the café. The menu had a
good range of meals and the service was very good.
