WHAT WE ATE...

The first time I visited Focus Melbourne I tried the waffle which was great but now it has been transformed into a green tea waffle which is even better! I ordered the ‘Matcha Green Tea waffle topped with roasted nuts, seasonal fruits and coconut ice-cream ($16.80)’. The combination of fresh and dried fruits and the crunch from the seeds went perfectly with the creamy ice-cream and the slightly bitter green tea waffle. Gorgeously presented too!

My dining companion chose the ‘Wagyu beef burger with Kimchi puree, tomato, Gruyere cheese and house made dill pickle served with chips ($18.80)’. The inclusion of the Kimchi puree was a wonderful way to make this burger different from other burgers. Another yummy dish…

WHAT WE DRANK...

Our lattes ($3.50) made with Ninety Plus Coffee roasted by Monk Bodhi Dharma tasted good.

My dining companion followed up his coffee with a Chocolate Milkshake ($5.00).

OVERALL…

My boyfriend and I had our first date at Focus Melbourne in Balwyn so after an amazing three months together we thought we would recreate the date… we even ordered the same meals and sat in the same spot! We found the food to be even better than the first time and are looking forward to many more brunches at Focus Melbourne. Perhaps, we will even try some of the other items on the menu…
