E'Latte Cafe, Ashburton

·         Smashed Avocado with feta and lemon dressed rocket ($13.50)
·         Chicken and Quinoa Salad with roasted pumpkin, spinach, feta and mustard dressing ($16.50)
·         Crab Baguette – soft shell crab, chilli spiced coleslaw ($13.50)
·         Breakfast Tortilla Wrap – tomato chutney, scrambled egg, bacon and cheese ($9.00)

I decided to have the ‘Banana Bread – toasted, served with berry compote and mascarpone ($8.00)’. For just $8, I received a substantial meal that tasted delightful. What a bargain! The banana bread was layered with a generous serving of an excellent berry compote. The mascarpone swirled with the compote to add some lavishness.

My dining companion chose the ‘Lamb Burger – slow cooked lamb, bbq sauce, mayo, rocket leaves, cheese, caramelised onions, pickled cucumbers in a brioche bun ($11.00)’. My dining companion absolutely adored this burger, with the pulled lamb being the hero ingredient. The chips were also plentiful and at just $11, another great value meal…

My latte ($3.50) made with Griffiths Bros Coffee had a robust flavour.

The outstanding feature of E'latte Café is their attentive and friendly service. I can see why they have their regular customers as they make you feel like one of the family. The very reasonably priced menu is another reason to visit. Check E'latte Café out next time you are in Ashburton…
