WHAT WE ATE...
The Green at St. Columbs has a very enticing sandwich selection which all come with a side of rocket and pickled fennel salad. I chose the ‘Tasmanian smoked salmon sandwich with cornichons, whipped mascarpone, crispy shallots and snow pea tendrils ($14.00)’. The addition of the crispy shallots created a wonderful crunch that complemented the silky elements of the sandwich. I was completely dusted in flour after eating the sandwich but the house baked ciabatta was delicious. The super-fresh additional salad was an example of how fantastic a side salad can be.

My dining companion also decided to have a sandwich. ‘The Green’s Open Vegie Melt – baby spinach, fire roasted capsicum, pumpkin, grilled zucchini and melted camembert with pesto mayonnaise ($14.00)’ was divine! The vibrant ingredients formed a moreish lunch that was soon devoured…

WHAT WE DRANK...
My latte ($3.70) using Code Black Coffee Blend 3056 was marvellous.

OVERALL…
The Green at St. Columbs is a social enterprise café for the Jesuit Social Services so you can enjoy a lovely lunch whilst supporting a great cause. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
